Baked Beef Ziti Recipe:

Ingredients

Scaled to 4 serving

  • 6 oz Whole wheat pasta (170 g)
    (Ziti)

  • 1 tsp Olive oil (4.5 g)

  • 1 clove Garlic (3 g)

  • 7 oz Beef, grass-fed (227 g)

  • 1/2 tsp, leaves Oregano (0.5 g)

  • 1/2 tbsp Thyme (1.2 g)

  • 1/2 tbsp Rosemary (0.9 g)

  • 2 can Tomatoes (380 g)
    (Diced)

  • 1/4 tsp Salt (1.5 g)

  • 1/4 tsp, ground Pepper (0.6 g)

  • 2 oz Mozzarella cheese (57 g)

Directions

Directions are based on the original recipe of 8 servings

  1. Prepare pasta as per package directions; drain and set aside.

  2. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. Preheat skillet over medium with oil.

  3. Mince garlic, add to pan and cook for about 30 seconds.

  4. Add ground beef and cook with garlic, once cooked through, drain fat

  5. Add herbs and cook until fragrant, then add tomatoes, cook until boiling and then simmer 3-5 minutes Season to taste with salt and pepper.

  6. Layer in a 10x13 inch casserole dish: meat, pasta, cheese, meat, pasta, cheese (in that order). Bake about 30 minutes until cheese is melted and bubbling. Enjoy!
